Yes, that is
correct. Most job openings are never advertised. Most jobs are filled by
referral and connections to people already known to somebody. Companies
advertise in a newspaper if they really do not know anyone qualified.
It costs money to put ads in the newspaper.
10 yrs ago I was well-qualified computer programmer but unemployed.
I responded to 100 job ads and nobody even called me back, just to talk to me.
Then in 1995/96 I told my computer to fax my resume to 350 recruiters in Los Angeles (imagine my phone bills).
After I understood how the system works, then I got jobs to choose from.
So I will share with you 2 hard-learned truths about how
the system works:
1. You have to send your resume BEFORE the jobs open up;
not after you see the 'help wanted' ad. That way when the company needs
somebody, the first resume might be yours.
Responding to a 'Wanted' ad does not work because you have to compete
with 10s or 100s of other people. It is already way too late.
2.You have to find headhunter who knows where open jobs are; who
will refer YOU to the company when it needs people.
Headhunters and Employment Agencies work hard
to find which company needs what kind of personnel.
Since they get paid only if you get hired, they have an interest
in getting you a job. If you have 100 agencies working
for you, your chances of getting a job will improve 100 times.
How can I help? What will I do for you?
First you will enter what kind of job you want.
Our computer will match your resume to profiles of thousands of headhunters, recruiters and
businesses who need and place people with your skills, industry and region.
Each recruiter came to my website, personally signed-in
and specified what kind of resumes he/she wants to receive.
Some recruiters might be local, living in the same area as you, and some might be nationwide but still having clients in your area.
You will see how many matching headhunters I have in database.
After you pay, I will send by email your resume to matching recruiters. Resumes usually go out overnight.
You might get some immediate response from headhunters, if they have open job orders.
It might happen that you do not get any immediate response.
It depends on job market, open job orders and your qualifications.
Remember, what you want to do is get yourself known so when next
time headhunters need someone the first resume they see might
be yours! You will have an advantage over the others.
If nobody contacts you then come back here, broaden your desired job criteria
or lower your salary required (you can always negotiate it up later),
and I will send you resume out again.
